Over the past year, the team at the Centre for Islamic Knowledge has been working very hard with our minimal resources to strengthen access to Islamic education and engage the community by offering thought-provoking and insightful programming.
As we enter 2020, we would like to share an update about our activities at CIK.
We're now a registered charity!
We are pleased to announce that the Centre for Islamic Knowledge is now a registered charity in Canada, Alhamdulilah. This allows CIK to issue tax receipts for your donations!
CIK Certificate Programs
The high school Islamic studies program is a two-year program (four terms) that provides high school students with a firm understanding of Islam to prepare them for the intellectual challenges they will face later on life.
The Islamic finance certificate program covers the core principles and basic models of Islamic finance and establishes a framework for understanding the Islamic financial system.
The Certificate in Fiqh Studies is a two-year program (four terms) that explores the principles and the complexities of Islamic Jurisprudence.
A two-year certificate program (four terms) that introduces students to the field of Hadith methodological principles, Hadith criticism (the evaluation and authentication of Hadith) and the field of Hadith literature.
A program designed for those who wish to take the path to master the Arabic Language in all four communicative skills, (reading comprehension, writing, speaking, and listening comprehension.
A two-year program (four terms) that surveys Islamic history and the significant issues throughout it, from the Khilafah ar-Rasidah, until modern times.
CIK Graduates
Over 20 students enrolled and 17 students earned a Certificate inIslamic Finance taught by Prof. Rizwan Tahir (McMaster University), Prof. Zafar Kayani (York University), Prof. Farkhanda Shamim (Ryerson University) and Anjum Shahzad (Capinnova Solutions).
Alḥamdulillāh, we had 23 students complete four terms of study (two years) and attain a Certificate in Fiqh Studies taught by Dr. Mohammad Iqbal al-Nadvi (Resident Scholar, CIK). Sh. Mohammad Zahid Abu Ghudda (Member, CIK Advisory Board) delivered the keynote address.
A platform for noted Muslim intellectuals and thought leaders to address critical issues facing the Ummah and ideas shaping the modern world.

CIK Lecture Series
A journey through some of the most influential personalities in the history of Islam. This selection of biographies, by one of the leading twentieth-century Muslim scholars, brings under three volumes, Muslim personalities whose contribution to the sustenance of the Islamic spirit through the centuries can never be overstated.

A thought-provoking lecture series in Urdu by Dr. Mohammad Iqbal al-Nadvi on the historical role of Muslim Scholars in the development of Islamic thought and its propagation in the Indian Subcontinent.

Much has been made about “Political Islam” in academia, media and society but very little has been studied and written about “Islamic Political Thought.” We were honoured and privileged to have one of the world’s leading Muslim academic scholars of Islamic intellectual thought, Professor Ovamir Anjum deliver our inaugural CIK Seminar.

The Centre for Islamic Knowledge is pleased to announce a new partnership with LQ Mississauga, a leading provider of quality Arabic language education in Mississauga. LQ Mississauga will offer classes covering the three Madinah Books after which advanced classes with Sh. Suleiman Yaqubwill be offered at CIK.
