Ustadh Amir Abu GhuddaUstadh Amir Abu Ghudda is Associate Editor of the Ihya’ Journal of Islamic Thought and a Board Member at the Centre for Islamic Knowledge. He earned a BA in Political Science and a Certificate in Economics from the University of Regina, followed by a JD from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. He completed his legal training through articles at a leading Canadian national firm and a clerkship at the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal, later practicing as a litigator in Saskatchewan.
Subsequently, Amir pursued advanced studies in the Islamic sciences in Türkiye under the tutelage of renowned Syrian scholars, specializing in Ḥadīth and Fiqh. He holds multiple Ijāzāt and his scholarly interests center on Islamic legal history, Ḥadīth methodology, and comparative Fiqh. He is currently undertaking doctoral studies in Islamic Studies at Georgetown University. |
