Dr. Ramon HarveyDr. Ramon Harvey is Senior Lecturer in Islamic Studies and Academic Lead at Cambridge Muslim College, where he teaches in the BA Program in Islamic Studies. He completed his MA and PhD in Islamic Studies at SOAS University of London.
His research focuses on Qur’anic studies, philosophical theology, and ethics, combining the study of their intellectual history with constructive contemporary interventions. Publications include:
He serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Comparative Islamic Studies and is the series editor for Edinburgh Studies in Islamic Scripture and Theology. Alongside his academic training, Dr. Harvey has pursued traditional Islamic scholarship, studying for several years with traditionally trained scholars in the UK. He has attended an intensive programme at Al-Azhar University, graduated from the Al-Salam Institute Islamic Scholarship Programme, and was awarded the shahada al-‘alimiyya (Licence in Islamic Scholarship) under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Akram Nadwi. |
